Artist bio: I work with acrylic, mica flakes, and metallic acrylic paint on large canvases. The reflective colors, fluid strokes, and impasto textures layer to combine depth and height and breadth of joy-infused energy that shifts in intensity as your view moves into and across the canvas. My artwork is purely intuitive. I have no idea what I am painting until I am quite a ways into the painting and the scene reveals itself.

I was raised within a family culture of creative entrepreneurs who have astounding imagination. The culture of thinking that I grew up with was dominant with positive, proactive, progressive coaching in “Go ahead—do it, create it, build it, make it, learn it, try it,” etc.

There is incredible power in being raised constantly by those whom we know have the skills, wisdom, and passion to lead us, in being raised proudly by those whom we know we can trust in the integrity of their word…and in being raised intimately by those whom we know can train us with their Joy.

To get satisfaction across a lifetime, we must learn the full scope of what Joy is possible to attain, train in, and maintain. It took some time to learn that my Joy is carved from the life within my spirit and that my spirit comes most alive when I write and teach and paint and entrepreneur and play.

Come see me at the Gardiner, Maine artwalk on December 6th 5-8 pm!
